Sydney Man Dead After Medical Emergency at Port Hood Beach

A 59-year-old Sydney man is dead after a medical emergency at Port Hood Beach on the weekend.
RCMP got called to the Beach at around 2:00 in the afternoon on Saturday and the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service says the man was about 30 metres off shore when the incident happened.

The Lifeguard Service adds the man was talking and responsive but goes on to say he wasn’t breathing by the time he was brought to shore.

Lifeguards and paramedics performed CPR and a defibrillator was used, but the man was declared dead at the scene.
