Sydney Lands Identified As Potential Housing Development Sites

The province says a number of pieces of land in Sydney are among 37 sites from the land inventory that could be used to build housing, including affordable housing.

The sites include land on High Street and Ranna Drive, as well as several pieces of land in the area of Carrol Crescent, Glengary Drive, Klondike Drive and Bras d’Or Drive.

Five of the sites named on the mainland are ready for proposals and the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing says it’s working on 31 others to make sure they’re suitable for housing.

It also says it continues to look for more parcels from the land inventory and preference will be given to future development proposals that include affordable housing.
