Sydney & Ingonish Break Daily High Temperature Records

Sydney and Ingonish broke daily high temperature records yesterday with a Heat Warning still in effect for Cape Breton.

The high at the McCurdy Sydney Airport yesterday was 33.1 Celsius.

The previous record high for that date was 31.1 Celsius in 1949.

The temperature in Ingonish Beach rose to 34.5 Celsius, yesterday.

The old record high for that date was 32.5 Celsius in 2020.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada says the period of very warm and humid weather will continue through the day today for Cape Breton.
