Sydney Airport Petition Gets More Than 8,400 Signatures

An online petition prompted by the indefinite loss of passenger air service at the McCurdy Sydney Airport closed for signatures yesterday.

It got 8,424 signatures.

Both Air Canada and WestJet have suspended service to Sydney because of the big drop in air travel during the pandemic.

The petition calls on the federal government to provide financial support to the airline industry.

It’s posted on the House of Commons website.
