Study Confirms CB High Child Poverty Rates

A new report from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives confirms the high child poverty rate in Cape Breton.

The study finds 33 percent of children on the Island are living below the poverty line compared to the provincial average of 22 percent.

The highest rate of child poverty in the province is in Eskasoni at 75 percent.

The lowest rate of 19 percent is in the Halifax area.
