Stricter Requirements Introduced For Some Travelers

Permanent residents and people travelling for essential reasons will have to apply to enter the province starting at 8:00 tomorrow morning.

They’re being told to apply about a week before they intend to travel.

Premier Iain Rankin says the process means travelers will be certain they’re able to enter the province as efforts continue to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Applications will be approved automatically for child-custody visits and exempt travelers like military, first responders, airline crew and people getting essential health services.

The province says all other cases will be reviewed within three business days.
