Strang Stands Firm On NB Border

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang is standing by his decision to recommend relaxing restrictions at the New Brunswick border.

Strang told reporters this afternoon there’s no reason to close the border at this time because the spike in COVID-19 cases in New Brunswick is in the northern part of that province and travel in and out of the area is restricted.

However, Strang says, if the outbreak in the area spreads or people in this province are put at greater risk, he’ll recommend tightening border restrictions again.
