Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers in Cape Breton are without power as a system bringing heavy rain and high winds makes its way across the Island. The power outages have led to school cancellations at Brookland Elementary in Sydney, Memorial High in Sydney Mines and East Bay Elementary. This morning’s Marine Atlantic ferry crossings have been cancelled due to high winds in the Cabot Strait. The Sydney Ports Corporation says the cruise ship Norwegian Dawn will not make its scheduled port of call today due to high wind. And, the Englishtown Ferry isn’t running, this morning.
