The Stanley Cup will be in Cape Breton, today. The Cup will arrive by motorcade at the Dominion District Community Centre this afternoon. Mickey McNeil, the founder of Mickey’s original six hockey tournament, and other tournament organizers have been working to bring the trophy here for the past year. The motorcade is scheduled to get underway at around 3:00 this afternoon near MacGillivray’s Funeral Home in Glace Bay. It will move through Commercial and Main Streets into Dominion and then out to Neville Street and down Mitchell Avenue back into Dominion for display at the community centre. Admission will be a monetary or food donation for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Dominion. MacNeil says that the keeper of the cup, Phil Pritchard, is travelling from Moncton, and warns that 3 o’clock is an estimated start time.
