Spring Sitting of Legislature Starts Today

The spring sitting of the Legislature begins this afternoon with an election call expected within days.

All three major parties have already been involved in an unofficial campaign over the past few weeks.

The government is due to introduce a budget on Thursday and Liberal House leader Michel Samson says they’ll start a budget debate.

However, he won’t say whether the government plans any legislative business beyond this week.

He does say the government intends to pass its reworked law to make the province more accessible for the disabled.

Bill 59 has been unanimously supported by the all-party law amendments committee after changes that came out of public hearings last month.

The 3rd Session of the 62nd General Assembly is due to begin at 1:00 this afternoon.
