South Bar Standoff Ends, No Injuries

Regional police say a 39-year-old man was taken into custody this afternoon following a standoff in South Bar.

Police responded to a home in the area at about 9:30 this morning, and they say the man agreed to come out of his home at about 2:45 this afternoon.

They add the man was not injured, but was brought to the Regional Hospital for assessment.

The situation led to the closure of the part of the South Bar Highway between Grant Street and Victoria Mines.

The road has since been re-opened.
