Some B. Ed. Students To Be Allowed Paid Substitute Jobs

The province says eligible Bachelor of Education students in their final year will now be able to work and be paid as substitute teachers.

Those who choose to do so will get a temporary teacher’s licence.

The province says the move will support the increased demand for substitute teachers.

Student teachers will only get paid for the days they’re hired to substitute and will continue to be supervised while on the job.

The province says choosing to substitute is voluntary and will not affect the completion of the Bachelor of Education program.
