Solar Garden For Pine Tree Park Estates

Cape Breton Liberal MP’s Mike Kelloway and Jaime Battiste announced 1.8 million dollars in federal money today to build a community solar garden at the former radar base in Sydney.

New Dawn Enterprises and the Verschuren Centre for Sustainability are working together on the solar panel project for Pine Tree Park Estates.

The funding will also allow New Dawn to update energy and heating infrastructure at the Estates’ housing units.

The Verschuren Centre will serve as project manager and collect and analyze data that will be used to improve similar projects in future.

The solar garden will be designed to meet 100% of the energy needs of the Estates.
