Sod-Turning Ceremony Tomorrow For New GB Police Station

A contractor will soon be breaking ground at the site of a new police station in Glace Bay.

Regional Police say Chief Peter McIsaac and Mayor Cecil Clarke will be on hand for a sod-turning ceremony tomorrow.

Dartmouth-based Lindsay Construction has been given the 2.6 million-dollar contract to build the new station at the former Post Office site on Main Street.

Most of the work is expected to be done in about a year’s time.

The sod-turning will take place tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock.
