Smith-McCrossin Kicked Out Of Tory Caucus

Cumberland North MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin has been kicked out of the Tory Caucus for her role in the blockade at the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border

PC Leader Tim Houston says he appreciates Smith-McCrossin’s frustration with continuing quarantine requirements for people entering this province from New Brunswick but he adds Smith-McCrossin failed to accept responsibility for her actions at the blockade.

Smith-McCrossin says Houston asked her to give a public apology for her actions but she says she’ll never apologize for representing her constituents.

She also says Houston changed his mind after previously supporting her.

Smith-McCrossin notes Houston told reporters yesterday she didn’t incite the blockade and her widely viewed social media message was communicating what was going to happen if Premier Iain Rankin didn’t change his mind.

Smith-McCrossin has yet to say if she’ll be running in the next election.
