Six People Displaced By Glace Bay Fire

Six people have been forced from their homes after a fire in one side of a company house in Glace Bay, yesterday.

The Glace Bay Fire Department got the call to 56 Seventh Street, shortly before noon.

A man and his mother who were living at the address weren’t home at the time but they lost everything and a family pet in the blaze.

The other side of the company house suffered smoke damage and no one was home there either home when the fire broke.

The Red Cross says a couple and their two teen children are now staying with relatives.

It says it’s helping them buy winter clothes and food and will offer similar help to the people who were living on the other side of the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
