Six new cases of COVID-19 today, one in Eastern Zone

Provincial health authorities say they’ve identified six new cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia today, including one in the Eastern Zone.

The Eastern Zone case is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada, as is one new case in the Central Zone.

The other four cases, one in the Northern Zone and three in the Central, are close contacts of previously-reported cases.

Eight more people have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the number of known, active cases in Nova Scotia to 29.

Two people remain in hospital with the disease, one in intensive care.

One thousand six hundred and fifty-seven Nova Scotians have tested positive for the novel coronavirus since the pandemic began; 65 people have died.

One thousand six hundred and sixty-three people in the province have recovered from COVID-19.
