The Province’s police watchdog is investigating a report of a man being injured while being arrested by Cape Breton Regional Police officers.
The Serious Incident Response Team says the incident happened early Friday morning, when police got a complaint about someone whose behavior was described as “out of hand.”
The SIRT adds officers arrived at the scene and dealt with a man who resisted arrest.
It goes on to say, several hours later, the man complained of pain and was treated at the Regional Hospital for a broken rib.
He was later released back into police custody.
The SIRT says it was contacted by Regional Police shortly after the incident, and started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
