A preliminary hearing has also been scheduled today for one of the people charged in a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney last summer. 22 year-old Corey Patrick Richard Blinkhorn faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, wearing a disguise in committing an offence and impersonating a police officer. The North Sydney man has already elected to be tried by Supreme Court judge alone if he goes to trial.
Regional Police charged a total of six people in relation to the beating of 48-year-old Shawn Curtis Jack, which occurred on July 14th. Jack suffered serious head injuries after being attacked with a wrench and a hammer and remains in a rehabilitation centre in Halifax.
