Sentencing For Man Charged After Skye Glen Shooting

An Inverness County man who pleaded guilty to charges laid after a shooting in Skye Glen is due back in court today to be sentenced.

RCMP say a 34-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the leg at a home in June.

33 year-old James Edwin Tyler Goswell from Stewartdale originally faced counts of aggravated assault, seven weapons-related charges and a drug count.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and weapon possession in December and his remaining charges were withdrawn.

His brother, 28 year-old Justin Francis Goswell from Judique was also charged after the shooting.

He was sentenced to three years and 10 months in federal prison in January, minus credit for time already served.
