Sentencing Hearing For Man Who Pleaded Guilty After Fatal Inverness County Crash

A Mulgrave man who pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from a fatal, single-vehicle crash in Inverness County is in court today for a sentencing hearing.

Scott Nicholas Lundrigan pleaded guilty to counts of impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm in April.

He was due to be sentenced on September 7th but the matter was put over until today.

Lundrigan was arrested after a truck left the road and hit a telephone poll on Route 19 in Newtown in October of 2015.

19 year-old James Daniel Poirier was a passenger in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old from Port Hastings who was also a passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
