Sentencing Hearing For Former Firefighters Who Pleaded Guilty To Arson

A sentencing hearing is due to take place today for two former members of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department who each pleaded guilty to a number of counts of arson.

25 year-old James Clayton MacDonald from North Sydney pleaded guilty to 14 counts of arson in November.

That same month 52 year-old Stephen Eric Tremblett from North Sydney pleaded guilty to five counts of arson.

A preliminary hearing for a third former member of the Florence Fire Department is due to take place on Thursday.

32 year-old Gary Richard Luker from Florence faces two counts of arson involving property damage.

The three were charged after a string of arson fires on the Northside in the spring and summer of 2016.
