Self-Registration Kiosks Coming To Cape Breton Hospitals

The Health Authority says it’s expanding self-registration kiosks to Cape Breton hospitals next week, starting with the Glace Bay Hospital on Monday.

It says the kiosks are similar to iPads and they’ll allow patients to self-check-in for select pre-booked outpatient appointments.

The Executive Director of Health Services for the Eastern Zone, Michelle DePodesta, says they expect the kiosks will reduce wait times at registration.

Kiosk registration will also be available at the Northside General Hospital starting on Tuesday and the Regional Hospital in Sydney starting on Thursday.

The Health Authority says people will still have the option to register in person and some clinics will continue to require face-to-face registration.
