Police Find Woman’s Body in New Waterford Lake

A Regional Police dive team has found the body of a missing 48-year-old New Victoria woman in New Waterford Lake.

Police have not released the woman’s name but she’s been identified as Debbie Lee Pearson.

Police say the body will be positively identified by the medical examiner’s office.

They say there’s no foul play suspected in her death.

Police say they got a call at around 9:00 on Saturday night when Pearson didn’t return home.

It’s believed she was cross-country skiing in the area when she fell through thin ice.
