The Seal Island Bridge is due to be down to one lane for another three days as crews replace a beam on the 55 year-old structure.
Repairs were ordered late last month after a driver noticed a truss on the bridge was broken.
Transportation Department local District Director, Gerard Jessome, says an engineer recently decided the 7.6 metre beam has to be replaced.
However, he adds the bridge is still safe.
He goes on to say it’s due to undergo what officials describe as a level 3 inspection in the coming months.
He says the inspection is not expected to affect traffic on the bridge.
