Scotchtown Man Dies From Burns Suffered In Alberta Explosion

A Scotchtown man badly burned in an oil plant explosion in Alberta has died from his injuries.

30 year-old Dave Williams suffered third-degree burns to 90 per cent of the front of his body in the January 15th blast at the Nexen Long Lake facility in Fort McMurray.

He died in an Edmonton hospital on Monday.

Another worker, 52 year-old Drew Foster was killed outright in the explosion.

The company says Williams and Foster were refitting valves on a compressor at the facility at the time of the blast.

Williams’ cousin says the family was told he dug himself out of the rubble after the explosion.
