School Cancelled North of Smokey and Power Outages

The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board has cancelled all schools north of Smokey only this morning because of the weather.

Meanwhile, there are more than 22-hundred Cape Breton customers without power, this morning.

There are outages in the Point Edward and Frenchvale areas to Christmas Island.

The estimated restoration time there is 11:15, this morning.

The power is also out in the Englishtown and St. Ann’s area, the West Bay area of Inverness County the Isle Madame area in Richmond County.

The restoration times in those areas range from 8:45 this morning until 4:30, this afternoon.

The cause of the outages is high winds.
