School Cancelled Again, Today

Students in the Regional Municipality will have a second day off from school today in the wake of Monday’s Thanksgiving Day storm.

Classes are cancelled at all schools in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board while students at Brookland Elementary and Étoile de l’Acadie in Sydney will be out of classes until at least Friday.

And the Marconi Campus of the community college is also closed again, today.

Meanwhile, students at Brookland Elementary in Sydney will be going back to class somewhere else when classes resume because of flooding at their school.

The School Board says grades Primary to 3 will go to Harbourside Elementary while grades 4 and 5 will be moving to Shipyard Elementary.

The board adds meetings for parents at the affected schools will be held at 6:30, this evening.

Brookland Elementary parents will meet at the Sydney Academy Cafeteria; Harbourside Elementary parents will meet at Harbourside and Shipyard Elementary parents will go to Shipyard for their meeting.
