Savoy Theatre Funding Announcement

Cape Breton-Canso MP Rodger Cuzner will make a funding announcement for Glace Bay’s Savoy Theatre, later this morning.

Glace Bay MLA and provincial Business Minister Geoff MacLellan will also be on hand for the announcement.

The event is due to get underway at 11:00 at the Savoy Theatre.

Today’s announcement comes after the Savoy asked for 340-thousand dollars from the Regional Municipality, earlier this month.

Theatre officials say the money will go toward their capital project that includes improvements to the building structure as well as upgrades to mechanical and heating systems and the theatre’s sound and lighting systems.
