Ryan Lutes Will Be New Teachers Union President

Members of the Teachers Union have elected Ryan Lutes as their new president.

Lutes defeated Peter Day in yesterday’s runoff election, getting 51 per cent of the vote.

Lutes teaches math at Halifax West High School and has been a teacher for 15 years.

Fifty-nine per cent of the union membership voted in yesterday’s second ballot.

Lutes will take over from Paul Wozney as President on August 1st.
