Roughly 120 Thousand NS Customers Lose Power During Storm

Nova Scotia Power says it’s struggling with thick ice build up on trees and power lines after more than 20 hours of freezing rain.

It says Sydney and Antigonish were the hardest hit areas yesterday.

Nova Scotia Power Storm Lead Matt Drover says about 600 powerline technicians, forestry workers and others are on the ground working to restore the service.

About 120,000 customers lost power during the ice storm across the province.

Road conditions and storm debris have slowed the down crews especially in rural areas.
