Halifax is one of four cities in the country where Canada Post workers are now on a rotating strike.
Workers in Windsor, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta and Victoria, B-C are also the picket line, today.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says the rotating strikes will last 24 hours with mail and parcels not being delivered or picked up.
CUPW filed a notice to strike last week after 10 months of contract talks failed to produce new agreements.
Canada Post says it’s tabled a full offer that includes wage increases, improvements to benefits, job security, and no concessions.
But the union says the key issues of job security, an end to forced overtime, better health and safety measures and gender equality remain unresolved.
