Robert Walsh Is New Regional Police Chief

Robert Walsh is the new Cape Breton Regional Police Chief.

Council approved the recommendation at last night’s meeting after an internal competition for the position.

Walsh was appointed Acting Chief in February of last year, after Peter McIsaac took a leave of absence as chief.

McIsaac recently announced he will not be returning to the position because he suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Walsh has 30 years of policing experience and briefly served with the Nova Scotia RCMP.
