Road Closures Planned In Downtown Sydney

The Regional Municipality says Falmouth Street in Sydney will be closed except for local traffic on Sunday from Bentinck Street to the Esplanade.

The closure starts at 3:00 in the morning.

The municipality says the closure is part of the ongoing Charlotte Street Redevelopment Project and the section of road will reopen on Monday.

There’s also a water service disruption in the downtown area scheduled for Sunday from 5 in the morning to 5 in the evening.

Notices have been given to affected businesses and residents.

As part of the community college construction project, a section of the Esplanade in Sydney will be down to one lane of traffic starting at 7 in the morning on Monday to 5 in the evening next Friday to allow for the installation of a new storm sewer.

Drivers are encouraged to give themselves extra time to reach their destination or use alternate routes.
