Roadblock Ended After Police Arrest Gardiner Mines Man

Regional Police say they arrested a 62 year-old man in Gardiner Mines this afternoon after getting reports he barricaded himself in a home.

Parts of Lingan and Gardiner Roads and Seaside Drive were closed while police negotiated with the man.

They’ve since been re-opened.

Police say they got a call to the area at about 1:30 this afternoon when someone reported concerns for the man’s well-being and said he might have a weapon.

They say weapons charges and what are being called domestic related charges are pending.
