Richmond County CAO To Resign, Today

The resignation of Richmond County’s chief administrative officer takes effect today after Warren Olsen was named in controversial probes of County expenses.

Olsen has served as CAO for the municipality since August of 2010.

His decision to leave his job comes after the release of accounting firm Grant Thornton’s forensic audit on Tuesday.

The auditors describe some of Olsen’s spending as highly questionable and add it included visits to Texas strip clubs.

The audit follows on a similar study prepared by the provincial ombudsman.

The RCMP is also investigating spending by County councillors and senior staff.
