Ribfest Raises $44,000

The numbers for this year’s Rotary Ribfest are in.

The event ran last Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Open Hearth Park in Sydney.

It was free to attend but donations were encouraged at the entrance to support the Regional Municipality’s Rotary clubs and the United Way Cape Breton.

Ribfest volunteer Michelle MacKinnon says the event raised just over $44,000.

This year marked the seventh time Ribfest was organized by the Regional Municipality’s Rotary Clubs.
