Reserve Mines Shooting Accused Due Back in Court

The Ben Eoin man charged in a fatal shooting in Reserve Mines last month is due back in court today for a status hearing.

24 year-old Brandon James Berthiaume faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of 24 year-old Brandon Kelly.

Berthiaume is also facing a second charge of attempted murder with a firearm, after police say another person was also targeted in the shooting but wasn’t injured.

Berthiaume’s mother, 45 year-old Jennifer Lynn Chisholm from Ben Eoin is facing a charge of accessory after the fact in the case.

She was released after her arrest while her son remains on remand.
