Regional Police Still Investigating Billy D’s Fire

Regional Police continued to sift through the rubble of the former Billy D’s Lounge in Glace Bay for a third day yesterday after the building was destroyed by fire on Friday night.

Police say they have reason to believe a homeless person could have been living in the building.

However, Staff Sgt. Ken O’Neill said early yesterday that no human remains had been found after about 75 per cent of the debris had been searched.

He adds the police investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

Fire crews got the call to the blaze in the Main Street building at around 11:00 on Friday night.

Police are asking anyone with information on the fire to call them or Crime Stoppers.
