Regional Police Rescue Man From Burning Home

Regional Police say three officers saved a man from a house fire this morning in Sydney Mines.

Police say they got a call from Pond Road at around 3:20, from a man asking for help to get out of a house on fire.

Officers found the man stuck, trying to get out an upstairs window with flames preventing them from getting into the house through a door.

The officers used a nearby extension ladder to get on the porch roof directly under the man’s window.

Police say the officers broke the window, pulled the man out, and led him down the ladder to safety.

They say man suffered minor injuries from the broken window and the fire has been deemed not suspicious.
