Regional Police Investigating Baby’s Death

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating the death of a five-month old boy in Sydney Mines.

Police say they got the call to a home on Windsor Street at around noon, yesterday.

Staff Sergeant Ken O’Neill says the case is not considered a homicide and that it’s protocol for Major Crime to get involved and follow up on the investigation.

He adds an autopsy will be carried out today in Halifax.

Meanwhile, police have secured the home where the death took place.
