Regional Police Have A New Contract With Wage Increases

Cape Breton Regional Police have a new contract with wage increases of 15 percent over four years.

All officers are getting a four percent wage hike, as of January 1st.

That will be followed by annual increases of four, 3.5 and 3.5 percent.

There’s also an extra 3.75 percent increase for officers with four or more years on the force.

Police Chief Robert Walsh says the wage increases will help them recruit new officers and keep the ones they have.
