Regional Police Chief Robert Walsh has announced he’s planning to retire on January 1st.
Walsh has been an officer for 35 years and his career has included work in patrols, traffic services and street crime and drug enforcement as well as major crime investigations and emergency response.
Walsh also has 16 years of senior leadership experience and has served for the past four years as Chief and President of the Nova Scotia Chiefs of Police Association.
The CBRM says the police commission will meet to start the transition process.
