Regional Councillor Encouraging People To Oppose Municipal Reform Bill

Councillor Darren Bruckschwaiger is encouraging citizens in the Regional Municipality to speak out on Bill 340, the Municipal Reform Act.

Bruckschwaiger says Mayor Amanda McDougall, some Regional Councillors and staff plan to travel to Halifax to voice their opposition to the bill before the Legislature’s law amendments committee.

He says he’s expecting some citizens and businesspeople from the CBRM will show up as well, with the bill expected to pass second reading today or tomorrow and then going to law amendments.

Bruckschwaiger says people who can’t make the trip can also send a letter to speak against the bill to the Office of the Legislative Counsel or by emailing Legc.office@novascotia.ca.
