Regional Council Votes To Keep Existing Number Of Seats

Regional Council voted this morning to keep the status quo of 12 councillors and a mayor.

The vote came after Council was presented with a boundary review report.

John Heseltine from Stantec Consulting recommended council should be reduced to six councillors and a mayor based on public input from all districts.

Council is required under the Municipal Government Act to present its recommendation on its size and makeup by the end of the month.
