Regional Council Votes To Bring In Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

Regional Council voted to bring in a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for municipal workers at last night’s meeting.

Council voted 11-1 to require employees to be fully vaccinated by December 31st.

Workers who aren’t fully vaccinated by that deadline and don’t have a valid exemption will be put on leave without pay and could be fired if they continue not to be vaccinated.

Exemptions to mandatory vaccination can be for a medical-linked disability or on religious grounds.

Unvaccinated workers who get an exemption could be required to wear a mask, maintain physical distancing and or be subject to mandatory testing two times a week.
