Regional Council Meets Tonight

Regional Council is due to meet tonight after last week’s meeting was postponed because of stormy weather.

On the agenda tonight will be the proposed charter for the municipality that Mayor Cecil Clarke says will give it more economic freedom.

Two public consultations on the charter were held last month.

Also on the agenda is the setting of a date for a public hearing on a proposed RV park for Big Pond Centre.

Some people in the area have already expressed concerns about the project.

Tonight’s meeting is due to get underway at 6:00, this evening.

Before the meeting, councillors will meet in-camera, starting at 4:30.

The meeting is being held behind closed doors under a section of the Municipal Government Act that allows in-camera meetings for discussing contract negotiations and personnel matters.
