Regional Council Meets This Afternoon

Regional Councillors will gather at City Hall in Sydney this afternoon for a general committee meeting.

On the agenda is a funding request from the organizing committee of the Royal Canadian Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships.

The Regional Municipality will be hosting the Championships next year and in 2020.

Council will also get a report on amendments that are needed in the Land Use By-law when cannabis becomes legalized.

And, councillors will get a presentation from the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada on the municipality taking over a number of federal properties.

This afternoon’s meeting is due to get underway at 1:30.
