Regional Council Holds First Meeting Of New Year, Today

Regional Councillors will gather at the Civic Centre in Sydney this morning for their first general committee meeting of the New Year.

On the agenda is a presentation by a senior policy analyst with the Department of Municipal Affairs.

The official will discuss a draft governance survey the department is developing, and will ask councillors for feedback on it.

Also on the agenda is public consultation for the proposed rezoning of the former heavy water plant site in Glace Bay.

As well, councillors will be briefed on winter operations by the public works managers in east and north divisions.

Today’s council meeting is due to get underway at 9:30, this morning.
