Regional Budget Deliberations Resume This Morning

Regional Councillors are scheduled to resume budget talks at 9:30 this morning after yesterday’s session was postponed.

The postponement was needed to allow staff to find 3.65 million dollars in the proposed budget.

That’s the amount of money needed to allow for a five per cent tax rate reduction, without service cuts or layoffs.

Councillor Darren Bruckschwaiger introduced a motion for the tax cut at the start of budget talks on Tuesday.
